1-Hour Hoisting and Rigging

Course Description: This is a safety training course and does not provide any other qualification or authorization outside of the site safe training card. In this course students will learn and understand the basic science behind Hoisting & Rigging and also learn to explain and demonstrate principles of force, compression, tension, torque and angles. Other topics covered in this session include; types of slings, rigging terminology, capacity of rigging components, gravity, softeners, strength reductions, sling angles, effects of environmental conditions and more. Additionally, students will learn to differentiate the correct care versus incorrect use and care of rigging and hoisting equipment. Applicable OSHA & ANSI/ASME regulations and standards will also be covered in this section.
